Ever heard that quote about loving what you do and so not having to work a day in your life, it's actually a fallacy.

There's no job where you don't have to work a day in your life. Every job requires effort including being a social media manager.

Being a media manager in 2018 is different from being a media manager during COVID-19. You need every skill you had then plus the ability to work under pressure and still produce content that has empathy.

Today I will be sharing 24 strategies that will make you a more effective social media manager.

1. Be a team player that asks for help
2. Test new features across social media platforms new and old; be adventurous
3. Keep building your writing and design skills, get comfortable using video and podcasts.
4. Be organized, use to-do lists
5. Balance your creative and your analytical side
6. Create great content that relates to your brand and your audience
7. Get great at creating animations and videos, they generate better engagement all the time.
8. Attend events, read industry news and stay up to date.
9. Authenticity is the name of the game in 2020
10. Build credibility by matching social media and reality
11. Interact with your clients and at least one social network
12. Read social media blogs, follow social media enthusiasts to gain knowledge and keep  up to date
13. Have a content strategy focused on building engagement with your audience.
14. Follow the analytics journey and have an honest idea of the fluctuations of your audience and what causes the changes.
15. Subscribe to news alerts on social media so you can take advantages of constant changes
16. Pause, Analyse, restrategize and execute.
17. Build an environment around you that keeps you inspired
18. Join online communities of productive, creative and inventive people
19. Lead. Connect with your peers. Give love.
20. Show empathy along with the values of your organization
21. Provide solutions to your audience
22. Be empathetic with the small business community and charity organizations that are committed to giving back
23. Collaborate with like-minded organizations in creating knowledge-focused events
24. Socialize with your audience through various events targeted at different demographics.
